Staff said the walk-in was “a bit warm.” It wasn’t a bit warm. It was hot, and it couldn’t hold temperature.

This box has its condensing unit sitting right on top of it, up under the ceiling. That’s where the problem was. The condenser fan motor had died: a Weiguang YWF4E-350S, 220V, 0.77A.

A walk-in works by moving heat out of the box and up to the condenser, and the condenser fan is what pushes that heat into the room. With the fan stopped, the heat has nowhere to go. Head pressure climbs, the system falls behind, and the box warms up along with everything stored in it.
From inside, it just feels like a walk-in that’s struggling. The cause was sitting on its roof.
We put in a new motor, the same model, and cleaned the condenser coil while we were up there.
