Ductless heads like this one are quiet, efficient and easy to forget about. They’re also simple inside, which is the point of opening one up.

With the head open, the whole airflow path is in view: filters, blower wheel, and the coil behind them.

A ductless head moves a modest amount of air by design, so it doesn’t take much restriction to cut its output. Loaded filters or a dirty blower wheel will do it long before anything trips or alarms.

A room that never quite gets comfortable is easy to live with, which is why people put up with one for years. It’s diagnosable, and it’s often not the expensive answer.
