An undercounter refrigerator on a quick-service line: a Delfield 406 series on a simple dial control, R-404A, 7 ounces of charge.

Seven ounces is a tiny charge. On a system this small you can’t judge the charge by eye on gauges. It goes in by weight, on a scale, or the box runs wrong.

The compressor is a Secop TF4CLX, a small hermetic rated for R-404A, R-507 and R-452A.

And the condenser fan blade was in pieces.

A condenser fan carries the compressor’s heat away. Without it, head pressure climbs and the compressor runs hot, which is not a combination any compressor lasts long in.

Whether a repair is worth doing on an undercounter depends on the age and condition of the box, and we’ll tell you straight.

If it heats or cools, we handle it. 📞 718-802-1700
